Dr. John Papastergiou, BScPhm, PhD, RPh

John Papastergiou, a 2002 graduate from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto, embarked on an illustrious career that has seen remarkable achievements and contributions to the field.
John holds adjunct professorships at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto and earned a PhD from Radboud University, Netherlands. Aside from his academic achievements, John hosts the podcast "The Pharmacists Are In" and owns and operates four Shoppers Drug Mart locations in downtown Toronto.
John has received numerous accolades, most notably the 2014 CPhA Canadian Pharmacist of the Year, the 2016 OPA Voice of the Profession Award, and the Pharmacy Practice Commitment to Care Award for Overall Patient Care. In 2019, he was recognized as one of the top 100 healthcare leaders globally by the International Forum on Advancement in Healthcare and received the OPA Award for Excellence in Research and Academia. In 2020, he accepted the inaugural Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto Alumni Leadership Award. As part of Phoilex’s Advisory Board, he brings with him his extensive expertise in pharmacogenomics and community pharmacy to help guide the development of Phoilex’s skincare solutions.
